It's not a money thing. The 3 way deal is apparently hung up because Tampa Bay won't part with Julio Lugo in exchange for Andy Marte. In other words, the D-Rays don't want to give up a slightly above average SS in exchange for the top prospect in the Braves system?!?!

No wonder they lose 100 games every year.

i was talking to somebody today at school about estrada getting traded that still surprised me when i found out he went to arizona but i think it was a good trade for the braves i mean they added to thier bullpen, when is the Renteria deal gonna come down????

It's on hold right now . . . see my above post.

Players are moving all over the place right now though, so nothing is going to surprise me.

He was an accident looking for a place to happen. I had some high hopes for Kolb. I wonder how Chipper feels about Raphy leaving after restructuring his contract. I always thought he was an average lead off hitter at best. I can't believe LA shelled out that kinda dough for him. Oh well.

My biggest concern is fixing the pen without Leo around.

To put it in perspective . . . the Dodgers are now paying Rafael Furcal more than Miguel Tejada makes. No way Furcal could turn that down, but I think the Dodgers are nuts.

If the Devil Rays had any kind of pitching at all, besides their closer Baez, they'd be pretty decent. They've got a lot of young talent in Gathright, Cantu, Baldelli, Crawford, Huff, and Upton. They can put Upton at shortstop if they do infact deal Lugo.

Hey, best wishes to Raphy, but there is no way he is worth that money to the braves, especially considering their recent "thrifty" philosophy.

yeah you got a point, but francouer is more of a 5th or 6th guy right now i mean he hardly ever walks and the whole point in the lead off spot is to get on base and ever now and then ya gotta let one go

It could happen... the Red Sox won a World Series in our lifetime for Christ sake.

I glad the Braves went out and got Renteria, but I really hate to see Marte go. I really think he could turn into a perennial All-Star for the Bo-Sox.

You hate to see talent get away, but the Braves have a pretty good 3rd baseman right now. They need pen help and maybe someone under 73 to play first (no disrespect to Julio, but that is a spot that could be improved.)

They've got LaRoche to play first.

Julio signed a two year deal with the Mets, lol...
