Edmunds and WH clash over clunker analysis

I eagerly await the sales number for this quarter. Then we will know who is correct. My money is on Edmunds. The CEO of Autonation is pushing for "Cash for Clunkers Part II". Edmunds does not benefit in any way by reporting the facts.

I would guess like most things the numbers are somewhere in between. I certainly don't trust the WH or GM or Autonation. However, I don't think Moody's has a dog in the fight.

Anyway you slice it, we paid more than 4500 per incremental sale.

The program itself was a clunker and provided only temporary relief without any long-term benefit. The next time an industry is suffering expect the companies to expect similar help from the government (i.e. tax payers).
