The article is about a sponser change on the 99 car, not about Edwards changing teams. Michael Waltrip would join Petty and RCR in needing to replace sponsers. There aren't a lot of $15-20 million ad budgets around.

I think this would be a pretty good deal for UPS and Edwards. I'd like to see it happen.

Found it, good piece. I liked Pearson, my first NASCAR memory was the opening day of practice for the first race held at Bristol. My dad and I were walking up the hill above turn one, and Pearson, driving a '61 Pontiac #3 spun out. It was his rookie year, and he had already won two races.
