Effects on recruiting

I understand that we all wanted a grand slam hire (Gruden) and we ended up with Butch Jones (which in my opinion will do just fine with the good staff around him), but what effect do you think our fan base's attitude might have on recruiting. Sure some people are gonna dislike the hire, but to see our fans basically hate a guy for taking the job, I would think would detract from a potential recruit's view of our program. Just a thought...

At least he's a proven winner...give him a chance..from everything I've read he gets the most out of his players..2 areas our last regime couldn't cover..

It makes you wonder if some of the people on here are real Vol fans or trolls. The hatred and venom on a man that actually wanted the job is only making the university less desirable to recruits. If any anger is deserved it is toward the coaches that acted like Tennessee was not worth their time.

Whats the point of a guy like Bray coming to UT when he will be exiting at the same level he came in at....I remember fans complaining about Dooley not being able to develop players then we get a guy that can do just that and complain about something else. I am giving him a shot...Screw it, he wasn't my first pick or even Hart's and Butch knows that...Hopefully that drives him more to prove us wrong.

wins get recruits and we don have that great of player on def. to get wins. this guy better find a way to wins or he will have a short leash with this fan base. he might evn get booed at a home game.

He did great in Cinci with less talent ... so maybe his staff and himself can get these boys coached up.

Looking at next years schedule, I don't see us willing more than 6 games at the most. I think really more like 4 or 5. I also look for 6 or 7 of the teams to be in the top 25.
