I think an elderly couple getting sniped to death at a cemetery is newsworthy. Just because the suspect is deceased also doesnt mean its un newsworthy.

Well, let's see if this thread hits almost 2,000 posts like the one about the trespasser in Georgia has done so far.

The difference between the two situations is not race. The difference is that this situation was handled immediately and with all possible force, while the Arbery situation didn't even produce an arrest for 2 months.

If you want to read race into it, then you're going to have to work thru how justice has been metted out give the racial make up of each situation.

I'm not reading race into anything other than the news media coverage of each, and the number of VN posters who gaf about each.

It's sad these people were murdered, but their killer met his fate. It's not like he escaped justice because he used to work for the local DA. Not sure why that would be hard to understand. Also not sure why anyone feels the need to bring race into this. It's just as easy to say police immediately pursued this suspect because the victims were white(if they were white).

In both cases, needless death evokes sadness. In the GA case, it's the lack of justice that makes it outrageous.

For what it's worth, I'd be really interested to know the killer's motive in this case. I'm willing to bet he left some indications along the way. Highly doubt he just decided to pick up a scoped rifle and post up in a graveyard. His motives merit discussion, and race could certainly play into them.

Until we get that insight then it's like you said, there isn't much to talk about. The cops took action, did a stellar job, and he can't harm anyone ever again.
