Nascar stopped caring once they figured out how to get Dale Jr. in every year.

How many times have they changed the eligibility rules for this? Pick a format and stick with it!

I think the sponsor has a lot of the say in the format, and this just proves how ludicrous someone not involved in putting on races can be.

I like the old format too but Budweiser isn't going to promote the "Coors" pole winners. Stupid that it came to that but oh well.

The only reason they allowed past rookies of the year in this year is that they wanted Kasey Kahne IMO. I have nothing against Kasey but they will take the bad press of allowing Conway in the race because they want Kasey in there.

After watching him drive like he didn't give a crap in last year's shootout, I hope Jimmie Johnson watches this one on TV. Sadly, it won't happen and he will cruise his way to a meaningless 15th place finish.

Kasey would have been in anyway. He did win several poles last year.

Winning the pole is no longer a criteria so with the revised format the only way he could make it was the Rookie of the Year catch.

My bad. Why does Nascar have to screw with everything? I liked it when it was the Busch Clash, 20 laps for pole winners. That's when it was worth watching.

I'm not sure this is all NASCAR's doing, AB most likely is behind this, or at least has some say in it.
