Mods, please give me a chance to get a response to this question before you remove this thread. I need help!!!

Does anyone know if there is a shuttle from Oak Ridge to Neyland on gamedays? I heard about one at the civic center but I called the center and they were unaware of it.

I was not planning to go to the game due to a family obligation but things have opened up. Unfortunately, there are no decent rooms in Knoxville at this point and I am not a good night driver. Another option, I have always heard DO NOT stay in Pigeon Forge due to the traffic but considering how late this game might go will that advice still apply?

Go to the Forge, head for Kville about noon... You'll be fine.

There's a left turn in Seveirville takes you right into the city, but can't remember the name. Right around the courthouse?

There is no gameday shuttle from Oak Ridge that I know of. You can catch a shuttle to/from Farragut High School, which would be the closest point to Oak Ridge. If you can find a hotel room within 15 miles or so of the high school, a taxi would not be ridiculously expensive (of course, I live in Boston now..so I have grown to be more accepting of high taxi fares). Taxi websites list on their pages how much they charge from oak ridge to west knoxville (or at least I think that I saw that once). I think that it was less than $40.

Even with traffic, you are only a half-hour away from UT coming from Pigeon Forge. And then right before you cross the Henley street Bridge, you can find a place to park for $5.00 and then walk across the bridge to the game..about a 10 minute walk. If you get there by 6:00 PM you should not have a problem finding a parking space. Furthermore, by parking on that side of the bridge you won't get caught in traffic trying to get back across the bridge to go back to Pigeon Forge. I park there all the time.

Try the Doubletree in Oak Ridge. Last week I wasn't sure if I was coming to the game, but amazingly I managed to get reservations online last Friday. It surprised me to get a room that close for less than $100.

Yeah, I've got a parking pass. Just trying to figure out some way to get to and from Neyland without sitting on the I-40 parking lot. Usually, I get a room in West Knoxville but that is not an option. Looks like Pigeon Forge unless I can talk my girlfriend into driving us back to Nashville.

Pigeon Forge will be alot more fun. When you pull out of the garage after the game, take Neyland Drive west and get on the James White Parkway. That will deposit you onto Moody Avenue in South Knox. Go east on Moody for about a mile and then make a left on Chapman Hwy towards Pigeon Forge. That will help you miss most of the traffic. Stay away from the strip or any route heading uptown if you are in any kind of a vehicle except a bicycle.

Thanks for all the advice. I pulled the trigger on a room in Oak Ridge and I'll just be prepared to do some time in traffic. I imagine you are right about the fun factor TBALL but being an old goat I will probably just want to sleep after the game.

Is there an exit off of Alcoa Hwy for Neyland Dr or should I just go up Kingston Pike and how bad would traffic be about 2-3pm??

You can drive to Farragut and take the shuttle to avoid some of the traffic. Parking is 10 dollars, I think. As for an exit off Alcoa...there is. But, I like coming up Westland/Lion's View to Cumberland and then up. There won't be a traffic problem at 2:00...probably :).
