Throughout the CRB UT era, he has had some terrific teams. 17'-18', 18'-19' teams were well loved.

StatsbyWill, our resident metric geek had a terrific article today "Knockin' Heads Off". Statistically, this team is in rarified air similar to that 18' - 19' team. This team is statistically an elite team. KenPom 27th offensively, 4th defensively. I would say this is somewhat biased, given the painful offensive stats early in the season. Two wins over top 5 in Kenpom. These are the type of metrics that Elite 8/Final 4 teams have.

Teams peaking at the right time is a dark art; hard to quantify and impossible to predict. We saw it first hand with Oregon St. last year and Loyola Chicago still gives me nightmares. Unimpressive during the regular season and getting hot during tourney time.

The 18'-19' team peaked in January IMO. This team is surging in February, which is the first time I can recall this in the CRB era (with this level of talent). This is good thing.

Buckle in and enjoy the ride...

Yea, as a former basketball head coach, I never had a team that didn't struggle scoring the ball at some point during the season. Most teams go through some type of scoring drought, hopefully ours' was earlier and over.......

Good post!

I attribute peaking later in the season due to the fact we’re working 4 freshmen into the rotation. Those young guards have become pretty consistent. If the young post players can keep improving then you have to like our chances for a strong finish

Great post!

Looking back, I think the Keon/Springer team lacked the fight and hunger that this team has.

Not to mention, Fulky was beat up last year and we lacked a true post threat. I can’t remember that guys name from Oregon St but he absolute bullied us in the paint.

We have three guards who could get hot at anytime.

If BHH can somehow find his rhythm along with Aidoo, we’ll be a dangerous match up for anybody.

They lacked a true PG, too. This team has two of them.
