Did somebody upstairs tell him to start messing up and jamming the ball in there when there are no open men?

Maybe it was Uncle Danny. Eric often looks more like a point guard than a QB.

He was talking to Sanders. Sanders was in the press box tonight.

I really don't know if we can expect a lot from Erik considering everything he has been though mentally with the coaches at the first of the season. I know he screwed up some plays, but I think overall he moved the ball pretty good. I just hope the next OC can work with him and really develop him.

He has the physical ability, but it's like the game is moving too fast for him. When he stood in and made the reads, he made some good throws, but it's always a crapshoot when he drops back to pass.

Grate post !!!

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

I told my son that we mayneed to rely on Crompton next year. I think Spurrier was after him.I think Ainge's 15 minutes of fame may have passed him by. He has a bad tendency to force a play when it's not there. Excuses don't win ballgames. He has had an ample chance to prove us wrong.

When he threw that last TD pass to Smith to tie the game, he looked like he had gotten some of his swagger back...Then he turned around and threw those 2 INT's...He looks good yesterday except there at the end.....He folded up like a cheap tent at the end

Really? A drive here, a drive there. He and Clausen both have been tossed around like rag dolls. Clausen's had more consistent play time. You can't expect Ainge to get over his funk magically after one series. It's going to take a good QB coach and some experience. You can't expect players to become perfect when you let them drive down the field and fail one time. Last night was the best thing (with what we have) Fulmer could have done for Ainge.

Personally I think this is the best we've seen all year. We've seen the field stretched which allowed a running game. We moved the ball, we had better clock management, and we've put more points on the board than quite a few games combined. The fact that we actually scored two touchdowns amazed me.

So you can keep on trashing Ainge but it looks like he's the rest of this season for us. And that gives him a leg up on anyone next year. Give the boy a good coach and he could be a real winner. Look at Brady Quinn last year....NOTHING. Look at several QB's out there. They had crappy years only to bounce back. Yes, he could be a failure. But I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. With a season like this it's the least I can do.

If they had stuck with him from the begining and his stone handed receivers would play for him he may very well have won this game, the QB shuffle screwed up both qbs IMO. AInge will start next yr mark it down and yes he made 2 bad throws but an inch or 2 on some of the long balls to Meachum and the score would have been alot different and our not so special teams really screwed the pooch last night that has to be fixed NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! :ninja:

I hope Ainge does well. I'm just trying to figure out at what point change is the only outlet. :dunno:

Lets give the new offensive coordinator some time to work with the kid. Really it looks like he is making poor decisions out of habit.

With a little preparation, and some coaching the kid can break bad habits. Look at the improvement for Brady Quinn from last year to this year. Good OC can make all the difference.

I think Ainge just needs a good QB coach to work with him. He looked good most of the game. Yeah he had 2 interceptions, but all qb's get intercepted. Ainge will improve more over time. If not , then put in Cooter.

The difference is Brady Quinn has been micromanaged in his mechanics by a coach who knows how to turn a gun for an arm into a formidable weapon....Ainge has been told he's the guy behind the center that throws the ball to the guys who run routes. :twocents:
