Didn't allow former players to visit without going through formalities that were insulting to the former players. Eric Berry was one who came to visit and not allowed in because the had not cleared the visit in advance. Plus ex-players stated they felt unwelcome when Dooley was coach, that he did nothing to make them feel welcome there. That has changed now, CBJ apparently is after them all the time to come visit & workout.

Edited to add: Eric Berry was vocal on social Media about his feelings regarding the way he & others were treated by Dooley, but later indicated the issue was resolved.
Dolley didn't help himself when he got in a pissing match with Dave Hooker when questioned about not letting ex-players attend practice, saying "how hard is it to pick up the phone? Look, pick up the phone, call the football office, ask the person 'Can I come to practice?' How hard is that?". Apparently Berry & some others showed up without advance notice, were asked to leave. Could have been handled better, such as explaining the policy that is to be followed but letting them stay that time, since they had not been informed of the new plicy.

A part of any business' success is using your network and resources. NFL players are HUGE resources. Why would you ever keep them away? Anyone who has played for UT is a huge resource. Nobody can talk about the tradition and pride of the University of Tennessee better than someone who put on the pads for 4 years.
