Will the Thursday night games on ESPN feature SEC teams only? I believe the last time Tennessee played on Thursday was against Ole Miss in 1996.

A couple of years ago, Mike Hamilton made a comment about not wanting to have a Thursday night home game because of concerns of disrupting the academic side of the university (or something like that.) So I am not sure we will see a Thursday night game at Neyland, unless something has changed.

SEC and ESPN signed a contract right? I rather tennessee play on saturdays but if the sec is the only conference that can play on espn thursday night the games will be alot more fun to watch.

I would absolutely hate Thursday night games. Takes the fun out of the college gameday experience.

Well Hamilton's right about disrupting academics. There is no way I would attempt to find parking to go to class on a gameday.

False. Thursday night games are nuts. Classes usually get cancelled or you don't have to do anything that day and all day is just one big party. I love Thursday night games.

Is it bad that I think that we should only play on Saturdays or Holidays. I know there are some very good schools that play on Thurs. nights occasionally, (USC, FSU, Auburn etc) but I think we are somewhat bigger than Thursday nights. To me Thursday night games have always been for schools that need the exposure. I know it's great exposure, but I don't see UGA, Fla or Bama playing Thursday nights. That's just my take, tell me if I'm wrong.

I wasnt asking if tennessee will be playing thursdays. Im asking does the thursday night game have to feature a sec team since espn has rights.

It won't matter, TV wise, as long as Mike Patrick is doing play-by-play.

He is just pathetically awful. Too many reasons to list.

If there are Thursday night games, I hope ESPN brings back Ron Franklin or puts Mark Jones on that duty.

Worst thing possible is Patrick or Pam Ward.

Thursday night games. Who are we USCe? If that's what we have to do in order to get a primetime game on TV, then maybe our program is in worse shape than I realized.

yeah I bet that's the reason he doesn't want a Thursday night game, or maybe it's because their might not be as big of a crowd due to the work week
