Not sure if this is the place to put this, if not then mods, please move:

ESPN has revealed this year's upcoming documentaries for its "Nine for IX" initiative (a series of documentaries like the 30 for 30 series; the name comes from these films being focused on "captivating stories of women in sports told through the lens of female filmmaker").

ESPN has revealed that the subject for one of these documentaries will be former Tennessee Lady Vols coach Pat Summitt, in a documentary produced by Robin Roberts.

The summary as follows from the release:

Pat XO (Lisa Lax and Nancy Stern / Produced by Robin Roberts)

On April 18, 2012, Pat Summitt, the winningest coach in the history of the NCAA basketball, did the unimaginable and announced her resignation from the University of Tennessee. On the very same day, her son Tyler was named assistant coach of the Marquette’s women’s basketball team, his first job out of college. While the sports world reeled from the news of Pat’s early on-set Alzheimer’s, the coach and her son quietly set out to beat this challenge just as they had every other – with grace, humor and most of all, each other. Pat XO tells the remarkable story of Pat Summitt as it’s never been told before. This raw, authentic portrait takes the camera from the filmmaker’s hands and places it into those who know her best. With Tyler as the lead storyteller, moving recollections are shared by assistant coaches, players like Chamique Holdsclaw, Tamika Catchings and Michelle Marciniak, fellow coach Geno Auriemma, and such admirers as Peyton Manning and Kenny Chesney. The archival footage and statistical records woven into the film provide their own insights into a woman who cared about winning, but also about elevating her players and her university. If it’s possible to do justice to Pat Summitt, Pat XO does it.

The series is scheduled to premiere on July 2 on ESPN and the films will air over consecutive Tuesday evenings at 8pm ET.

I'm not sure if the order in which they will air has been announced yet, though.

Pretty sure at some point in the documentary I'll cry like baby. Looking forward to it though.

I, for one, think ESPN should avoid using anything from Geno Auriema in a documentary of Pat Summitt. Guy is a piece of trash, and obviously did something to piss off the greatest college bball coach of all time. Not sure if it has ever been released what happened or what was said to cause Pat to end the regular season meetings with UConn or if I just missed it.

Otherwise, I can't wait for the documentary. Will definitely record it and make sure my duaghters watch it with me!

It's to ESPN's advantage to mention Geno at every opportunity, since he's the top coach in women's basketball and gives an interesting interview.

I think the cancelling of the series had to do with uconn winning the recruiting battle for Maya Moore. Pat never did disclose her reason so it's been left to us to use our imaginations as to what happened. From the Tennessee fan viewpoint, Geno had somehow cheated in recruiting Maya. From the uconn viewpoint, Pat was bummed that she didn't get Maya, that she was already beginning to suffer from Alzheimers, thus irrational behavior, she knew uconn had a much stronger team and didn't want to suffer embarrassing losses over the coming years.

Since it's never been explained by Pat, these opinions will continue to prevail into the future determined by which team you're a fan of.

Personally, I think it was a mistake to cancel the series. It hurt women's basketball, it hurt Lady Vol basketball, and it helped uconn. It appears that Holly would like to renew the series, although at this point, it appears that uconn isn't interested. To them the rivalry is dead, replaced by others.

You think this and you think that. Who cares what you think? You have no more information than any other women's basketball fan.

Who cares that you don't care what he/she thinks? This is a message board, if you have a problem with people posting their thoughts and opinions here.

The NCAA needs to end title IX! The Athletic departments of the Universities around America should not have to prop up Women's sports which as a whole do not make money.

I could post lots of my thoughts on any subject which I know nothing about. Speculation is not interesting to me. Pat had her reasons and I respect them.

While we're at it let's just take away their right to vote! Ya know what? Bible says they can't teach or hold power over men. So let's make sure they don't speak in public, and while we're at it lets just remove all bikinis and underwear of any attractive design, take away razor blades and all forms of birth control is a good start.

Once we get on that we'll work on getting slavery set up again before moving back to a monarchy.
