Apparently, several coaches interviewed don't think UGA's Defense is special and especially at the corners. One coach (no name revealed) believes the Vols can put 50 points up on UGA's defense because they expect out WR's to run past their D-Backs. Sounds excellent to me. GBO!!!

I really don't like to get ahead of myself on high quality opponents. But I've had the idea that UGA's CB's are an opportunity for UT since noticing that the starters are both Sophs and all 4 back ups are Fr. One of their starting safeties is also a Fr.

That seems like a lot of inexperience going up against Heupel, Hooker, and UT's WRs.

GA has stacked 4 and 5 star talent on the defensive side for years. No matter the class, they are still dudes on that side of the ball. If they blitz like Pitt did on every play, then Hendon has to hit those deeper shots because he was 5/15 on those passes against Pitt. He was over 60% on those passes against Florida and Alabama. They didn't blitz. Bama only blitzed 5 times the entire game. GA won't use that plan.

Pitt blitzed because our OL wasn't as good as it is now! That unit has improved greatly and Fl and bama couldn't get to Hooker because we won in the trenches!

I really don't think you can compare Hooker or UT's O from the Pitt game to what they are now. Hooker missed A LOT of open plays in that game. They confused him. I'm not sure how much opposing D's have blitzed of late. Where did you find that info? However, I am pretty certain that UT's OL has been picking up blitzes extremely well and all they really need is that extra half count for Hooker to deliver the ball. That's probably why teams aren't blitzing much... also... tempo makes it harder to get properly lined up and keyed to run blitzes. If you don't get home because you've misaligned or don't read your keys well... then you leave a safety or LB on one of UT's WRs. Heupel has pretty successfully schemed that to be Hyatt.

SEC confidential: Coaches and scouts break down Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama

When the Bulldogs take on No. 1 Tennessee at Sanford Stadium on Saturday, only two players who started for Georgia's defense in its 33-18 victory against Alabama in the CFP National Championship game are expected to be on the field -- cornerback Kelee Ringo and safety Christopher Smith.

'It is just the standard': Georgia's defense preps for its greatest challenge yet
Really interesting that the majority of the coaches interviewed with apparent knowledge of both teams are picking UT.

The Vegas line is mostly predicated on Georgia playing at home. As Klatt emphasized in his preview, it's very hard to beat a good team on the road.
He noted that almost every loss by a top 12 team this season has been against a good team, on the road. That's the challenge.

Home field advantage is huge in a game like this. They will draw some false starts and other pre-snap penalties I’m sure. But I still think we get the W.

Pete Fiutek of College Football News picks Georgia to win 38-27 over Tennessee. He said HH will have a big game completing 65% of his passes but Georgia would be on the field offensively too much:rolleyes:

Imo Kirby wont blitz the first half. I think he believes his dl can put enough pressure. 2nd half he will chg to blitz a lot to get pressure.

We can analyze this game until the cows come home but its pointless, bothe teams are talented, it comes down to which team wants the victory more.... hold on, i got a black white face knocking on my front door

UGA is a damn good football team, especially on Defense. They have guys stacked deep that can play. The same is true for AL. If we create confusion with speed we will be fine. If they lock us down and we can't get first downs this game won't go well.

So far, no one has been able to lock us down and the team, as it is playing now, has the best chance in years to go on opposing turf and win.

This game is 50/50 and will be decided by turnovers and penalties. We win those two I like our chances. We play even it will be a coin flip.

Go Vols!

☝️This. This team has gotten better week to week. When we played Florida I said I’ll believe it when I see it. We boat raced a good LSU team. Let’s see if bama can do it. When we played bama I knew we had a really good shot. They were good enough to take bama‘s best shot then steal it in the last 15 seconds. If this trend continues we win out. Even if it means beating bama twice.

I watched a film breakdown and it was shown where Alabama only truly blitzed five times. They were counting on their base defense to get pressure and it didn't work for them. Pitt blitzed on over 50% of the pass attempts. It was an interesting stat that really jumped out. We haven't played anyone since Pitt that has blitzed that much and played man outside. Pitt took their chances, and I think GA will use that same strategy.
