ESPN article on vols(How Tennessee's crew of castoffs is atop college football)

After reading that, you just want to see these guys get the win. That hard road to get where they are at explains the mental maturity in this team. That in itself is a X factor not listed on a stat sheet that may be the most important stat this team has. Drive, internal fortitude, fearless, and appreciation for what they are doing. That’s hard to match up to

Alan Hooker looks at this Tennessee team, a team that has surpassed even the wildest expectations, and can't help but think about Rudolph's visit to the Land of the Misfit Toys.

"That's kind of what you have with Tennessee," Alan Hooker said. "All these guys have different stories, some of them stories of rejection. But in the right setting, they're a perfect fit."

And if the Vols have their way, that perfect fit will lead to a perfect season.

This completely captures the spirit of this team AND our fans too. They are fighting because no one believed in them. They found a coach and staff that believed in them, they found each other, and they made a damaged fanbase believe in them.

Great article. We have a team full of underdogs, but guys who use that to motivate them. This team is special because of that.

These guys may not have the same kind of "fire" as Al Wilson did for the 1998 team, but the circuitous routes that they have taken thus far breeds a serious fire in the belly that will take them a long way on the football field and in life.

Loved that article and bookmarked it. This is a special TEAM! I know many have said it on here and I agree .... Before the season and the first game, I was thinking, " This feels like 1998 again". I didn't think we could overcome 'Bama quite honestly before the game but after that win, I became a believer that this season is indeed magic and special.

Win, lose or draw tomorrow, I have no doubt that this team will give it their all and will come out victorious. If the bounce goes the other way, it won't be because of lack of effort. I've watched Tennessee Vols football for over 55 years and this team is like no other Vols squad. Now lets go kick some Bulldog tail !!!

OMG…. Awesome Post, thank you!!!

In life (and football), it’s a game of determination and will… beyond satisfied that our team consists of players who simply don’t give up/ accept what others think of them personally or what they think about our program/team.

Go VOLS, beat the heck out of Georgia!!!!

Love that Muschamp was HC and the current uga WR coach was OC when they did NOT recruit Hyatt. Some motivation for him.

Glad Tee recognized him. Pruitt had his issues, but recruiting was not one of them.
This team reminds me of our Basketball team of Grant, Admiral, Bone, Alexander, turner, and Bowden. Just gave there all!
