ESPN bracing for major cost cuts.

Completely agree that I hate for people especially support staff to lose their jobs.

However, ESPN needs to scale back some of its programming. Just for fun, I have started a shortlist of my first 10 on air personalities that need to go in no particular order in an effort to make that network more efficient, cut costs, or make it better to watch. I hope someone can send to ESPN:

1. David Pollak
  • He's annoying and he's from UGA.
2. Desmond Howard
  • Trade this guy over to Fox Sports for Charles Davis
3. Lee Corso
  • Thanks for the memories, but its long past time to go
4. Brian Griese
  • He's not his dad and he puts me to sleep
5. Jesse Palmer
  • He's a gator and that wasn't a catch by Gaffney in 2001 against us.
6. Adam Schefter / Chris Mortenson (efficiency / cost-cutting move here)
  • Never understood why we needed two people to interrupt NFL shows with their breaking news from their sources.
  • Pick one of these guys and send the other off to pasture.
7. Todd McShay / Mel Kiper Jr. (another efficiency move here)
  • Just like #6 - I like both of these guys but do we really need two people doing the same job?
  • On a side note, I wish that someone would pay me the big bucks to make predictions for 2 months, get them wrong every year, and then be back to do it again the next year.
8. Matt Stinchcomb
  • See #1
9. Chris Fowler
  • If you've been a Tennessee Vol fan for longer than 15 years, I don't have to explain this one.
10. Mike Golic Jr.
  • This may not be universally agreed upon, but he is also not his dad, and something is a little off about this guy.

Not making my top 10 but very close:
  • Screamin' A Smith
  • Max Kellerman
  • Mike "Greeny" Greenberg

Smith & Kellerman would have been #1 on my list. Then start with guys like Vitale

Gee, when there's no sports to show let's have the World Poker Tour on. That'll sure put everyone to sleep.
