ESPN busted for using fake names in Emmys scheme

How worthless is an Emmy that a company just submits information and they just mail it to you. Thats what they do for a completing an osha training. Why not just go to the trophy store and get some trophies to hand out to the talking heads.

Just a bizarre story. Who even thinks to try something like that? How do the recipients not realize that it’s a scam? How does it take 20 years to uncover?

A. It said they changed the name plaques before giving them to the employees.

B. Because no one gives a s*** about the Emmys.

I read the part about the plaques. I still don’t get how the recipients didn’t know. It would seem like an Emmy would involve a nomination and an official announcement.

I think answer B probably sums up most of the problem.
