Coach Pearl sure does wear the orange well. One thing about him, you get the feeling even if he does lose, those boys will be hustling their butts off!

Agree 100% with that statement. I liked Buzz but the team didn't play 4 quarters for him. Pearl has players that would have never been consider at other SEC or major schools playing their hearts out. Great example of that is Bradshaw!

Great to see our guys getting some positive publicity. Pearl is the kind of coach that the media people will love.

I like the poll in the right corner. "After losing badly against DUKE, is Texas still a final four contender in your eyes"......

Tennessee vs. Oklahoma State (in Oklahoma City), Thursday, ESPN2, 6: The nightcap suddenly has meaning after the Vols dropped Texas. Beating Oklahoma State, too, would mean the Vols should be on the NCAA Tournament radar for some time.

LOFTON NAMED SEC CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sophomore helped lead Vols to win over No. 6 Texas

Dec. 19, 2005

Tennessee sophomore guard Chris Lofton was named the Southeastern Conference's Co-Player of the Week along with Kentucky's Rajon Rondo after leading the Volunteers to a 95-78 win at sixth-ranked Texas.

Lofton led all scorers with 21 points on 5-of-9 shooting from 3-point range. He displayed unlimited range against the Longhorns, making one of his 3s from El Paso on the logo at mid court of the Erwin Center.

The win ended Texas' 33-game home winning streak against non-conference teams.

For the season, the Maysville, Ky., native is averaging 17.8 points per game to go along with 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.

That reminds me something that the announcer at my high school's football games says sometimes. If the offense has a 3rd and long, for instance...he'll say, "Third and Tally Ward". (Tally Ward's a building three blocks from the school.)

Or, Third and the tennis courts. (Note: We don't have tennis courts at my school.)

I don't think our opponents appreciated that very much. :p
