It's almost as if ESPN likes to show teams that play well in large media markets.

What really is a fair shake though?
What I think is ESPN sucks up to the media darlings such as USC popualtion 35 mil, Texas 24 mil. Notre Dame, over 60 mil catholics in US or so.Tennessee has to have a ton of success in order for ESPN to be our public relations source.I can see right now a very good possibilty an undefeated SEC team being left out in the cold again, and this time it could well be UT.You agree? Is it fair?

Oh, that 3rd time that GameDay has gone to Pasadena, that is this coming weekend. It is fair because ESPN can go where they want. There is obviously not an agenda or conspiracy in Bristol, CT to stay away from the SEC.

I think the USC-NEB game will be a great one, as will the LSU-AUB came. Who knows why ESPN picked Pasadena for this weekend, but it wasn't just to say "screw you" to the South.

I never understand why people are convinced that ESPN has any agenda other than to make people watch.

I guess I should have said media fraternity. My point being is at the end of the season, if a Major Independent is undefeated,a Big 1O is undefeated along with USC, and an undefeated SEC team, no doubt the SEC will get left out (again).

But what makes you think that will happen? I know it happened to Auburn in 2004, but they are hardly the first undefeated team to get left out in the cold.

I know it's happened to other teams,Penn State, etc.I hope I'm wrong.I hope all the BCS voters are fair across the board.

What's so hard to understand about Herbstreit not being able to be in two places at once? I know he's a good guy because he's picked the Vols more often than the other guys, but c'mon.

On the part of Notre Dame, that panders more to the New York/New England population... I remember Tony Kornheiser explaining a long time ago on Pardon The Interruption about the northeastern football fan base, because that are has lacked excellence for so long (not to mention lack of schools, by my count the main teams there are Boston College, UConn, Rutgers, Syracuse, Army and Temple). There is a large Catholic population which basically made Notre Dame the surrogate team of that large northeastern demographic. It spread out to the point where it wasn't just Catholics in the are rooting for them anymore; it was everybody.

Other than LSU getting the BCS Championship in 2003?
