Interesting tidbits in here. Nothing we didn't generally already know but always interesting to read details. Aside from the complaining about facilities, McElwain reminds me of Butch in a lot of ways.

Also something for my fellow UT fans to keep in mind. There is a lot of griping that Tennessee is unwilling to pay up for "big name" coaches and the reason other schools have been successful is because they are willing to pay up. If there has been a school that has willingly "settled" for coaches over the last several years, hasn't it been Florida? They "settled" for coaches with only coordinator experience, or ties to Saban, and they have swung and missed on their hires since Urban.

Florida could have hired people other than Muschamp and McElwain, but I believe they were both Foley's guys from the beginning (LG or LW, correct me if that is wrong). This contrasts with Tennessee, who at least attempted to hire coaches with better resumes than Dooley or Butch before we had to settle for each of them. Hell, even Muschamp, who isn't much of a coach, turned Tennessee down after Kiffin left. It's really more baffling that Florida can't find a premier coach than it is that Tennessee can't find one.

Inside story split between Florida Gators and football coach Jim McElwain
