3 of the 4 paragraphs are about our problems.

I don't have a problem with them mentioning our problems. Face it, there have been too many.

However, it's weird that in a team capsule they spend so much of the story on the problems and how much detail they go into on Banks. If you want to talk about the problems, tell the reader how many there were and move on.

Strange capsule is all I can say. Someone not familiar with the Vols has no idea of what to expect on the football field this coming season from the information in the capsule.

I hate ESPN, but that capsule link is only 1/20 of the overall article. If you want to read the rest you have to pay for ESPN insider. They go on to address every position and overall outlook for the season, not just offseason problems about Banks et. al.

With the season approaching, our team just ranked 3# preseason in the Coaches' poll, and all they can talk about are the same problems they've been trumpeting for 6 months.

Wow!

ESPN Rules!

They really love the Vols!

Go ESPN!

Vols and penitentiary in the same article. That's really fair and balanced.

I'm really tired of arguing that they have it in for us.

Some things are just obvious.

We're just a bunch of convicts anyway.

Ba$turds!

I dare say 90% of the people who log on to that will not be members. So ESPN gets their message across in the teaser. It's the message they want to send about UT.

It's time for them to move on.

These stories have been covered over and over.

The information may be published on ESPN, but it is written by an independent third party, Blue Ribbon Yearbook, which is sponsored by Franklin American Mortgage Co.

I realize ESPN is featuring it on their website, but they (ESPN) had no role in writing up each team's article. It's just another Athlon, Sporting News, Lindy's etc. college football preseason mag.

Definitely agree that I wish people would get over the off season stories and talk about football again.

We had our first practice today. I think that shoudl officially end the off season.

As long as the Florida gators are part of the SEC, ESPN will love them and hate the rest of the SEC....ESPN likes the Florida schools...Especially UF....They like "the U" A LOT too...FSU don't get a lot of recognition from them but they are well liked too...Face it, if you're not a Florida school, you're not well liked by ESPN...Or a Big 12 team...ESPN is pathetic

Oh I almost forgot, or if you wear an orange and white uniform on game day with a big POWER T on the side of the helmet.....If you fall under that category you're hated by ESPN....As Vol fans we take pride in knowing that LOL...SCREW YOU ESPN! :thefinger:

I realize that many will in some way objectify ESPN's coverage of us or anyone else in college football, but as far as I am concerned, the way they politicked Peyton out of the Heisman was the last straw...if you were able to count the positives versus the negatives concerning U.T. in their coverage, I dare say it isn't even close.

Soooooooooo, just in case anyone has any doubts about what I think of ESPEEN..let me just say...

That was the most fair and balanced article I have read probably in the last 2 hours... Oh I am sorry I fell and hit my head while I was reading it, maybe I was banging my head, I really can't remember, all is pretty hazy, much like their objectivity. I hope Alabama's article includes expert testimony and signed affidavits.... Just once I want to go to ESPN and read about our secondary or the quarterback non-controversy, without paying extra so they can hire one more dumb jerk. Perhaps I ask too much. :banghead:

every team in divison 1 has had problems with arrest and suspensions.

these are young kids who make mistakes. some worse than others.

but ut is a top notch, top 5 football program and no matter how many players on our team get into trouble, we will get the most attention.

kinda cool though. usc has had a few arrests and u hear nothing about them. hmmmmmm.... looks like the finger always points to knoxville no matter what.

screw all nay-sayers and screw anybody who bad mouths the vols. we will see u in pasadena "experts"

- - From an ESPN article!

Ranked 3rd in the preseason in the coaches' poll, ranked no lower than 5 in any preseason poll of any significance, picked by the SEC coaches to win the conference, many people's choice to be in the Rose Bowl at years's end, and they report a couple of obvious facts in regard to our returning starters and echo what the majority of other outlets have already reported about our prospects for 05, and Milo tries to give them credit for being fair and impartial in relation to Tennessee football.

Milo, I really don't mean to be ugly, you're obviously a very good young man, but it is just as apparent that you are missing a lot of the history betwenn us and ESPN. I realize you were only about 8 or 9 years old when this bad blood began, and I also understand that that's far too young to have a grasp of this discussion, so in light of those facts, maybe you should consider adopting a new argument because you're not going to change the mind of most UT fans who are old enough to understand the history, that ESPN has it in for us, because of that bad blood you were too young to know and understand.

That's just friendly advice. You don't have to take it but you'd probably do well to.

Regards,
