Grrr, wolf pups..... :realmad:
Seems Michigan could go bankrupt they'd still rank" pretty" by someone?

aTm? Who are they? McNeil no longer wants to touch the ball.(has nightmares)

Its cool our WR'S havent stuck out, under the same name and #.(This rank is great! I agree)

Fla? Urban talks loud, guess he's happy La Tech doesnt still have Moats?

USC, Man as a music fan what ever happens ? Im an old school Fleetwood Mac fan so......They should play Tusk every score..Now that i like!

I cant argue with special teams. :dunno: I just dont get why UT has let Neylands maxims get over looked? We have the kicking game, I have to believe he meant both ways? Returns must improve to be a top 1-3 BCS Threat.

does anyone find it funny that the DB's are rank but our LB's aren't - seems backwards to me.

Seems linebacker play is going to be extremely strong around the country this year. Every single one of those top 10 teams could have the top LB groups in the country any other year.

As far as our's goes, I'd say it's definitley solid but not on the same level as those teams.

Also, IBleedOrange24/7, even though they had NC State ranked ahead of us on the DL, they said it was basically a dead heat.

My thoughts exactly.

This alone has to call their picks into question.

Come on OldVol and VOLracerx... Linebackers around the country are great this year and d-backs are not. What more explanation do you need?

I think that our LB's are top 5 in the country - despite a strong showing by everyone else. Our secondary is supect and hasn't shown us anything to write home about -

Another thing about these rankings - UGA isn't in the top 10 and they have a GREAT backfield.

It just doesn't add up - that's all!

Most of the experts, so called, have stated their reasons for not putting our LBs top 5 in the country is because they place a question mark on Simon's knee.

I don't see that as reasonable. The doctors say it's 100%, Kevin says it's 100%, and he was playing at an all-SEC level when he went down with injury.

There's no reason to believe he won't be as good or better than he was before he was injured.

If they state that they have questions about his durability, then I'd say that's a reasoned question mark, but if he's healthy all year there's not a linebacking corps in the country that I'd trade for our's.

And anyone who thinks our scondary as a whole is better than our linebackers is smoking something that's either illegal or you have to have a prescription for. :D

Putting our secondary in the top 10 is like putting the Gators in the top 10 - it may end up being true, but there's absolutely no way to justify it right now with anything other than wishful thinking.

Absolutely!

It's the old, "If your life were depending on it" scenario.

Yes, we have great talents in the secondary with a great anchor in Allen, but if 'my life depended on it' and I had to choose which unit would out perform the other, based on all the information presently at hand, I'd go with the Backers.

No one said our secondary was better than our linebackers...these rankings compare unit to unit, secondary to secondary, linbackers to linebackers. The secondary and linbacker rankings have nothing to do with each other. I think our LB's will be a force, but like Milo said, CFB is loaded with LB's this year and Simon's health is a question until he proves otherwise.

Let's see. Our secondary ranked 10 in thier poll, but all of our fans and even the coaches are still worried about it. But our LBs are being touted as possibly the best in the SEC and we don't make the top 10 nationally by ESPN.

I'm sticking with my original comments. Too much .... :devilsmoke:

Again, I think our LB's will be a force but there are questions about Simon's health. If he played last year no way our group is left out of the top 10. I will also concede that our secondary has no business in the top 10 based on performance last year, but based on talent/potential they are up there. All of this pre-season hooplah is nothing but speculation so hopefully by the end of the season we will be looking at two top FIVE units.
