ESPN updates top 25

Can't we just be ranked 7? Does anyone need to be ranked "number" 7 or "#"7? does it make it a different number if you put "number=" or "#" before the number?

Note that this is not a ranking decided on by humans but a power rating spat out by a statistical model. It has nothing to do with record per se but rather what the teams have done statistically. The model would favor a higher-rated team over a lower-rated team on a neutral field, based on whatever stats they feed it and how they construct the algorithms. Hence why UT is so much higher than in the polls, and why some teams may drop games and thus deservedly drop in the rankings without necessarily dropping in power ratings like the ESPN FPI, Josh Pate’s rating, and others.

It’s a Moneyball world we’re living in. Glad we play the games on grass and not on circuit boards though.

Because they are the hope that is the ACC.
After we dispatch NCST this week, ACC going to look real bad as far as putting a "conference champ" in the CFP outside of maybe Miami.
