The thing that could be said is that TN finished in the final 8 of the tournament, thus should at least be 8th?

That's the best ranking we could've hoped for (passing 'Cuse, UK, and KU was never in the cards). Anything from #9-#11 would've been fair. Glad to see a top 10 finish! That's two in three years.

It's very nice, IMO

1-4 are the final four, and 5-8 are the favorites throughout the year (except maybe Kansas St, but they're #8 and were a 2 seed)

If anything, this proves we never should've been a 6 seed and hopefully this run will pay future tourney dividends

Thats very fair.

Just think how far this program has came in the past 6 years. We have fans complaining now because we are not #8 instead of being #9 in the country. Nobody would have ever thought this would have happened before Bruce got here.

Cool to see but as it has already been stated, doesn't matter. Bring on the Rocky Top League and next season.

The preseason rankings for next year have all looked pretty absurdly awful in excluding TN.

If we get Selby on the 17th, (which I am still hopeful will happen) we should be a preseason top 10 team.

I wish people would not whine about pre-season rankings that come out the day following the NCAA finals.

It always works out.

Already stated: polls really don't matter but it is nice to finish in the top 10

I was hoping for a top ten finish. As little as it seems like it matters every little bit helps when you are out on the recruiting trail and trying to promote your program!

We deserve a top 10 finish...can't complain about finishing at No. 9.

Now let's take that next step. :)
