That Boise St. and TCU would be playing each other in a BCS bowl......to me this is a ploy by the BCS to match 2 non BCS schools in a BCS bowl....that way there can be only 1 BCS buster that can be a winner ...I think that is bull crap.
I'd love to see a Boise St. VS Georgia Tech and a TCU VS Cincinnati.

I think the sky might fall in if we had 2 non BCS schools come in and win...but it looks like the BCS is not going to let that happen.

Since they don't have a tie-in, there would have to be a BCS bowl that just took two at-large teams. There isn't, is there?

Maybe it is because they want at least one "BCS buster" to win to continue to help make the case for them being in it. I would like to see them play BCS conference teams because them playing each other tells me nothing.

I don't see it this way...I think all three non BCS teams will play in their own, separate bowl games...Maybe Cinci in the Sugar vs. the Gators, TCU vs. GT in the Orange, and Boise vs. Iowa (maybe??) in the Fiesta. All three are in the top 6 and, correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't it "required" that the BCS take a non BCS if in the top 6?

This would suck. Neither team would get a chance to prove themselves to the nation or be exposed.

Hmmm...so the Fiesta is the only place this can happen. The BCS does not have the control to make this happen. The Bowls have a selection order that rotates every year. Fiesta will take first as a replcement for Texas. They will take the team that will make them the most money. Is TCU or Boise that team? I think it will be Penn. St. but I am not sure on the financials of a TCU or Boise match up.

A TCU/Boise St. match up will be infinitely more interesting and entertaining than UF/UC

To you...which is fine but to me no. I will not watch TCU play Boise...I would rather watch a good sitcom or surf the web. Now TCU playing UF that would be something to watch. It answers the question of can they hang with the big boys. TCU vs. Boise is to me Blah. I do not know how our opinions compare though to that of the mass market.

I'd rather see TCU play UF too (or even better - play Bama). However, the UF/UC game holds zero interest for me so TCU/BSU would do more for me.

When a bowl has one of its automatic qualifying teams play for the national title, that spot becomes an at-large bid. The Fiesta Bowl has one berth for the Big XII Champions (Texas) and one for a qualifier. So they can match up whoever they want that qualifies. ESPN is predicting Boise vs. TCU right now, but I think they're just pulling that out of thin air.

NC Game - Texas vs. Alabama
Rose Bowl - Ohio State vs. Oregon
Orange Bowl - Florida vs. Cincinnati

Those three you can basically book. How the Fiesta and Sugar shake out will depend on which way the Fiesta goes, and their selection committee usually likes to shake things up.

Well since this has become prediction thread...I will go GT vs. Cincy(Orange). UF vs. TCU(Sugar), Iowa/Penn St. vs. Boise(Fiesta), Ohio St. vs Oregon (Rose)--Bama vs. Texas (NC). Orange will pick first from Cincy, TCU or Boise. I believe Fiesta will take Big Ten team as replacement for Texas---So whoever makes the most money of the three after that Orange will take. I am just guessing it is a Big East team. I am not sure what the fan following is for a TCU or Boise.

There is only 2 Non BCS teams. Cinci won the Big East..which is a BCS conference

well Boise ST and TCU in the Fiesta Bowl..this is bull crap.
everybody says that non BCS teams need to play the "big boys" so what does the BCS do?
they put the little guys in a game together.
how can the little guys prove anything when nobody will let them?

There is nothing about this that makes sense. The money does not match. I am now convinced the BCS is meddling. Fiesta would not pick that match up unless they were given something for their trouble.
