Don't know if you guys are up yet this am. I am listening to a program on ESPN2 called Cold Pizza. They have just called Phil Fulmer a "dumb Redneck" after he bragged on Clausen. Then they said how dare Tennessee go into that area and win that game with the victims of Katrina depending on the game for a positive in their lives. Unbelievable. One of the guys went to school with Fulmer and said that Tennessee is just a bunch of dumb Rednecks! The other commentator said there was a blatant holding that was not called that would have allowed LSU to win the game! What an insult to our program and our school.
This is an example of the strong bias and disrespect that ESPN has for our program. The criticism was that Fulmer made the comment about Clausen being the greatest story in America. Give me a break....that does not make our coach, our school and the state of Tennessee a bunch of Redneck dummies!

ESPN:

1. Typically anti-VOLS

2. Typically another Liberal dominated media (sic) form.

Sorry I am have looked at coldpizza.com There is no place for comments. Guess it needs to go to ESPN.
Regardless of how we feel about Fulmer, to say that we are all a bunch of Rednecks....should we just be proud of that maybe and just say Go Rednecks, Go!

Sounds like somebody doesn't get Woody's sense of humor.

I don't know the guys on that program. He was a blonde guy sitting on the left of the main guy. The other guy was just livid that we won the game and basically said how dare TN go in there and win that game in the face of Katrina? Really insulting stuff in my opinion.

I understand and appreciate humor...I don't understand three guys sittingon their stools agreeing that TN is a bunch of dummies! Believe me if it was humor, it was humor gone bad.

u must admit Fulmer must feel a little embarrassed, one week he names Ainge as the starter for the whole season and the next week he calls the backup the greatest story in America. The whole Clausen family should tell Fulmer where to go. Rick plays for his teammates not his incompetent coaching staff, UT would be better off going on the field without a coaching staff, Rick could lead this offense on his own

Woody said he went to school with Phil and it sounded like he was giving Phil a hard time jokingly...because they are friends.

The other guy is just an idiot..plain and simple.

I was watching ESPN this morning and they spent all of two seconds on us. Then they showed the preview for Cold Pizza. I thought it might be good (eventhough it IS ESPN) so I TIVo'ed it. Boy am I going to be mad when I get home. Gotta love ESPN....NOT

Some people need to lighten up and learn what sarcasm and a joke is.

Amen . . . Especially when you start taking Woody Page seriously

Just another typical ESPN comment. They are VERY anti-Vols over there. Oh well the media can say what they want about CPF praising Clausen after the QB issue, but one thing that no one can take away from us is the HUGE "W"!!!

And to ESPN and the Cold Pizza Crew... :espn: :moon2:

The other guy is Skip Bayless, a Vandy grad. I thought their little exchange was pretty funny. Something to the effect of Skip saying "Vanderbilt feels as if it shouldn't be in the state of Tennessee" and Woody replied "The state of Tennessee feels the same way about Vanderbilt."

Go Woody Paige. As for Skip... I don't hate him, I just pity him.
