The Vols' win over LSU averaged a 3.1 rating on ESPN2, making it the highest-rated college football game in the network's 12-year history. The game was seen by a record 2.76 million households.

The previous highest-rated and most-viewed college football game was between Virginia Tech and _North Carolina State on Sept. 4 (2.5 rating and 2.19 million households).

The highest-rated program on ESPN2 was a 3.6 rating for the Oakland-Boston baseball divisional playoff game on Oct. 4, 2003.

Haven't seen this posted and I think it's great. Maybe we picked up some more Vol fans after this game since everyone seems to like the underdog. I think that it was great publicity for our program as far as recruits go and it was obviously a great comeback.

I certainly hope that all those people got good impressions of our football team after pulling that one out of their butts. We need better press than we've been getting for the past few years... nobody has talked us up nationally since we won the NC in '98.

I wouldn't be surprised... that game became a blowout about the time ours got interesting. It was on one of the other TVs at the bar I was at.
