Hubert Davis is the closest we have to a Tennessee homer in the media. He was really fired up about Chism and the Vols during the run to the regional final a few years ago. Though, I think he's great regardless of his view of the Vols.

With the close loses to Kentucky, Austin Peay, Charleston, Georgia, Duke and Memphis, we may not have the amount of wins necessary to qualify for the tournament.
We have 9 wins and I would say we need a minimum of 18 to get in the tournament. We play 12 more regular season games, plus, at least one more in the S.E.C. tourney. Thus, we can only lose 4 more games and still be able to qualify for the NCAA.
This team is so up and down, that I can't begin to predict if we will or won't qualify for the tournament.
If we had 3 of the 6 close games that we lost back, we would be sitting at 12 wins and a bid to the tournament would be more likely. Those close loses, will end up haunting us.
So, the thought of us being good in the tournament, probably won't matter because we may not make it to the tournament.

I think making the NIT may be tough for this team. Today's win over UConn may make the difference in qualifying for ANY postseason berth.

I love Jarnell Stokes' game. He is a stud!

I actually wouldn't mind the NIT considering all the change that has occurred. Would I prefer the Big Dance? Absolutely, but making a deep run in the NIT would provide valuable experience as well.

I would take a first round exit from the NCAA tourney over a deep run in the NIT any day. With that said, I think we have a much better chance at the latter this year. Next season, different story though.

Does this team have the potential to play like they did tonight and make a run and make the tourney? Yes. Do they have the potential to just not show like they did against uga? Yes. Honestly nobody can make a very safe prediction right now, so let's sit back and hope we kick some commodore behind.

I don't know whether or not I like all these band wagoners. It's nice to get good pub again but at the same time I enjoy flying under the radar.
