ETSU does crazy things like this. they had a player win the first ever college slam dunk and home run derby? Calvin Talford for basketball (1992) and for baseball Paul Hoilman (2010)
in looking this up I saw another ETSU guy won this years Homerun Derby a Knoxville Native
Hagen Owenby.
also almost became the first team to be a number 16 seed and beat a number 1 Oklahoma. they was ahead by 3 late and lost by 1

also destroyed Terry Bradshaw in his last College game.

That one in bold above was a heartbreaker because we outplayed Oklahoma the entire game. That was the best ETSU basketball team of all time.

Was ranked in the top 10 for a little while that season. Calvin Talford on that team could jump & grab a penny/nickel off the top of the backboard. Keith "Mr" Jennings was the heart & soul of that team though & went on to play a few seasons in the NBA for the Warriors.
