Bad news for the country assuming he would have been re-elected. By all accounts, he seemed like a reasonable guy - a rarity these days in the gubment.

His reasoning for leaving is entertaining, but says a lot about the modern politician.

He's basically going to become a lobbyist and get paid more for bilking the American public.

As an ex Hoosier, this really does surprise me. No, I never voted for him, but he as the democratic version of a Bob Corker... right of the exreme of his party (where corker is left) some may say that's good, but he still had policies I don't like but at least he was workable.
