He had been contemplating it for awhile. Leaving the Angels organization was his decision. Ready to start his next chapter. Great player and family. One of the special VFLs that was part of the group that helped put UT baseball back on the map. GBO

He‘s a legend for sure. He even signed autographs for the kids after the final heartbreaking loss against Notre Dame. Who does That??? Evan Russell VFL does….He’s going to be successful in life no matter what he does.

He has an accounting job is all I know. Decided it was time to move on. I don't know anymore. Sometimes they tell you and sometimes you tell yourselves. At some point it is over for all, just at different levels.
@preacherman20 you know Evan better than I but the few times I had the pleasure of being around him, he was lights out with the kids and seemed to sincerely enjoy those interactions.
My point being, I could definitely see him in the youth coaching game.

Probably a very grounded young man with good parents. Sometimes the crumbs and traveling ain't worth it when you know there is a potentially good business life you can start and get in a routine. I know someone who graduated with his parents and speaks highly of them.

No doubt Evan brought massive excitement to Vol Nation. Great kid too.
As for the business? It can be cruel. He probably was relegated to a bullpen catcher in dirty hot Arizona. Nothing more. And to add insult to injury, he’ll probably need to pay some of his signing bonus back for not fulfilling his contract.
