Dook still gets all the calls. They should be down about 12 right now assuming equal officiating.

I think no matter your position on biased officials in any sport, wether or not you believe refs can be out or not to get certain players or teams, everybody HAS to admit that Duke men's college basketball team gets a lot of calls.

VCU is very fun to watch. Their playing style is remarkably similar to ours. Pearlesque, so to speak.

Why? What's the logic? Why would the refs choose Duke?

Duke getting calls gave to them and could still very well get put out in the first round for the first time in a long time

Who knows? But from what I watch, and what I hear from unanimously every other viewer of college basketball, Duke gets a lot of calls.

Could it also be that there are a lot of people out there that don't like Duke and they see it a certain way? Do you hear a lot of people that like Duke say they think Duke gets an advantage from the refs?

I'm no Duke fan but I just don't buy into the theories that refs favor certain teams year after year.

I would say if there's anything to it, it has more to do with style. Arkansas, UK (under Pitino), and UT currently have very aggressive presses and man-to-man. To many opposing fans, these teams appear to be fouling on defense virtually every possession. The refs that watch it see otherwise. Until someone can suggest a logical reason why Duke would be favored by refs but other top powers (UNC, Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, etc.) are not; I don't buy the conclusion.

(sorry to make a bigger deal out of it than it really is).

I don't agree with the blocking foul they just called on VCU, but that's a hard foul to distinguish between...not saying that's favortism but the VCU guy got shafted on that one I feel like

Tough call - replay looked like Paulus left his feet before the set.

BTW - I've got VCU in this game so I'm not here to pull for Duke!

I have Duke just because I go over there to get some medical things taken care of but I wouldn't mind seeing them get put out early....LOL....I just want an upset to happen tonight so maybe it don't happen to UT tomorrow LOL

I've only watched the second half, but it looks to me to be the complete opposite. They're letting those kids mug Paulus, and act like thugs... pushing guys down and throwing lots of elbows.

Me too. I watched VCU in their conference championship game and really had the urge to pick them over Duke, but backed out.
It's hard to pick against a team like Duke though.....They have a tradition of going deep in the tourney, that's the only reason I picked them because Coach K always has them ready to play this time of year

Thugs? Throwing guys down and lots of elbows? Seriously?

Watch the Dook guards throw elbows every time they get a little pressure. That should be a flagrant foul every time they do it.

Like the last call... do you really think that was a foul? And even if so, how can you say they are getting "all the calls" ???
