It HAS been on display for all to see that this team plays very undisciplined causing havoc on themselves. Sometimes more isn’t better.
The offense is Randy sanders with training wheels on steroids and will not beat anyone outside of the common foes under the best of circumstances even then its a struggle.

The lack of effort, execution and seemingly understanding of football was some of the worst I have witnessed. It was clear everyone wanted to just go home. That is not a championship team or mindset. The defense has played well in spurts this year but those who can read the tea leaves know it has been smoke and mirrors. Those complaining-like me are talking about exactly what you saw laxt night. I said going in we would lose by 3 touchdowns just due to the weather i said the defense would get shredded because they have all year. All those 10 WINS during the season told me i would see exactly what i saw on the field last night. This program can accept it or adapt and change thats it.
In closing to all those it takes time -next year folks. I been waiting since about 1980 and certainly since the 98 season. Its always next year around here.

I do agree with the word mindset....Last night was over before it started. OSU came into the stadium looking for a fight last night. You could see it in there eyes, they had a dog in em. While our kids were more worried about topless stretching...Hell they crowded our kids and barked at them all the way back to the locker room...pre-kick. Simply put, OSU ....they weren't having a bunch of us...We scared them none!

It doesn't take time. Next year isn't our year.

You will never see another championship.

Better?

This is a roast, but does have some important information. The Bowl scheme allowed ½ the teams to cap their year with a + going into next year. Now, it's like BBall, everyone (relevant) but one team will end their season in anquish and defeat. Temper expectations for this.

Any success we’ve had the last 15 years can be attributed (mainly) to 3 players, IMO. Josh Dobbs, Jajuan Jennings, and Hendon Hooker. They all did a lot, in spite of coaching, because they were internally motivated leaders. We’ve got to have more of that type of player. Unfortunately, in the NIL/portal era, those will be few and far between. Face it, most guys would go play for a MAC team (over a power), if the money was right. They don’t care about pride, how much us fans care, how cool the university is, how much they’ve dreamed of playing for “x” school, or in “x” conference……it’s all about the money.
I want them to make their money, but there has to be some level of required commitment. Even the NFL has that.

Can anyone explain to me why, regardless of circumstances, we never returned a single kickoff or punt, iirc? I saw kickoffs not make the end zone, fair-caught with no defenders around.??? Riddle me that one, VolNation

I hate the "all business" mindset. That's appropriate for NIL negotiations, but, I want to see Beserker level energy coming onto the field. I guess our coaches don't inspire that level of engagement.

Agrees....OSU wasn't aware that it was show related, money related or pomp and circumstance...They thought it was a football game.

I'm not going to knock any wins bc they are hard to come by and it's a week to week experience. I wasn't surprised at all with the lack of prep after the bye bc its happened all year. It's just disappointing and I wonder what in the world is going on. Players nor coaches were prepared. Its levels to the game and last night really showed that. If I'm not sure where head man even starts but it's his baby so its gonna be interesting to see what he does. Always a joy when Vols have a good season. Hate the disappointing ending.

The biggest concern to me is the ineptitude of the offense and the lack of both appropriate talent and development with the Oline. This offense has not clicked for two years . . . And while I think Nico could develop into a really good QB . . . I don’t see him as next coming of Johnny Football.

The defense has improved . . . But is nowhere near championship level.

No they're not. Ohio state has not looked good all year and the 1 good team they've played they lost never mind the Michigan game. We made will Howard look like a Heisman.

With that said, there's no dominant team this year. We had an easy schedule and barely squeaked by the bottom half of the SEC teams. We had the 14th strength of schedule in the SEC. Putting up 70 against the scrubs gave us false hope.

Bama has a new coach that had a ton portal out with a horrible quarterback and still barely won at home but thought it was a great win only cause of the name.

Florida would have given me a bad feeling if we played them later in the year after the decision to strictly go with lagway. Lost to a pathetic Arkansas team. Blown out by the 2 best teams we've played. Georgia may be the best team in the league but south Carolina was playing as good as anyone in the last half of the season. Texas is in our shoes. Weak schedule and lost to the only good team they've played.

Playoffs should have never been expanded. The 4 team semis were almost always blow outs and now we're going to get 3 rounds of it. If they want to stick to 12 just base it off the BCS computer instead of having a committee and giving automated buys to bad teams. We would have drawn Penn state and moving on to the next round
