Excellent analysis by Orange Throat on Basilio

I stand by my assessment. But, I am more particular than most. I sorta expect a guy on radio to have a pleasant voice. Resonant & articulate. Today's Standards are not what I grew up with. "It's not what you say, but how you say it."

Wow, heard a lot about Basilio on VN, but this is the first time hearing his voice. Really hard to listen to that tone and inflections. Hard to find good voices anymore. BOB BELL, you sure are missed.
Bob Bell was terrific. Whether broadcasting on radio or t.v., sports talk or knowing about good music, Mr. Bell was tops.

Especially true during the off season. I didn't have a clue what this thread was supposed to be about, but I couldn't make it through all the nonsensical jibber-jabber to find out what the show was about. Just couldn't do it. He was great during the Pruitt years, though. He would be yelling and screaming (about actual events) after the game and the callers were too. That was listenable.

It's worth moving over to the second hour of the show and listen to Tony's interview with Adam Sparks, the Knoxville News Sentinel columnist who has done such excellent coverage. It's a long interview and Adam explains why it took so long to get to this point. Worth reading all his columns, too.
