This is my favorite word in football.

Although I am definitely a "wait and see" fan... I like very much that the new staff uses the word on a constant basis.

Cut as an OC preached execution.

I also do not miss "throw it all at them and see what sticks". That isn't a system. It is scatter brained. More than one member of this staff has talked about learning to execute basic things as a foundation and building up... to include installation of the systems. Learn the basic run plays. Learn the basic route tree. Learn the basic alignment.... then branch off the mastery of those things.

They still have to win... but I do like their approach better than what we've seen over the last several years.

I think this is light years better than stooley was doing. I don't see a NC this year but I do see a really good football team that will be Coached to win and finish the games until the whistle blows.

I just want to see a UT team that looks like they know what they are supposed to be doing and when. That is one thing I appreciated about the Kiffin's. That team executed reasonably well. Outside of that... only the Cutcliffe years had any of that.

I have to point out that 'execute' was one of Dooley's favorite words. After every loss, he blamed the team for not executing what the coaches were teaching. I like CBJ but it has nothing to do with the use of some silly word.
