TN, AL, and MS already have 2 schools in the SEC. Most good (multi-sport) programs in the south already have one team in the SEC because the SEC brand already has a wide foot print. The states left with no foot print are NC and VA before I'd say your not in the southeast. Those 2 states have multiple schools deeply entrenched in the ACC. My question is which changes GA, FL, SC team alliance or ACC being completely dismantled or do we end up with the TT's and Mizzuo's of the world?

I'd rather see a FL state and Ga tech than a TT or some other crap school.

we're not going to end up with Texas Tech, so don't worry about that. at best they're going to end up in the Pac12 with Ok St & OU

Ga Tech left the conference angry and upset at the SEC, (pretty much giving them the bird on the way out), and not much has changed regarding that one on their part

Plus they prefer the academic image that being in the ACC gives them and don't want to give that up / are very happy with their current situation (also, the SEC pretty much already owns the ATL market in spite of GA Tech)

Why would the ACC be dismantled? What would cause this here?

(& of course UF really doesn't want FSU in)

That raises Clemson then, which is a recruiting juggernaut but not much else or wrestling NC or VA schools out of the ACC. I think Clemson and FL state would jump at the sec, after that looks more like pulling and poking or just stooping really low.

When you think of ACC what sport do you think of, basketball. Then what teams and matchups do you think of, UNC/Duke/Nc state would be at the top. Not sure NC legislators would let UNC or NC state leave the other in a shaky ACC. I don't think duke and UNC want to split up what rivalry they have and I can't justify sec taking 2-3 nc schools.

The SEC won't be taking any of them; they won't want to come (the ACC & close NC schools connection makes them look much better academically than our conference and they know that....the only reason the NC schools might leave is if the conference just absolutely fell apart)
