I look for us to be around 3rd or 4th in the SEC this year, and at least a top 25 team at the season's end...maybe even a top 20...Stokes and Maymon down low will be tough for a lot of teams to deal with. I also look for us to surprise some people in the Puerto Rico Shootout this weekend. If we can make it to the championship game on Sunday, I definitely think we can compete with NC State and possibly even beat them.

MVP may not know that Maymon is going to be out for a while, and he has no return timetable as of right now. He's not going to make the PR tourney, so that hurts our chances fairly significantly IMO. We will be in uncharted waters if Maymon misses a huge chunk or the whole season with Stokes, Hall, and Yemi in the post. Really tough to formulate a realistic prediction at this point.

Yeah I know Maymon is out right now, but I'm not overly concerned about it. The main reason being being that no one really remembers what you do in November as far as basketball is concerned...really we just want to pick up a couple of solid resume wins in Puerto Rico over UNC Asheville and OK State. I think we are good enough without Maymon to make a good showing this weekend...However, it's definitely important that Maymon doesn't miss a huge chunk of time, but I think we can handle him just missing a few games to start the season.

No one remembers what you do in November unless you lose. Then they hold it against you in March.

(1) I expect us to win every game that we are favored to win. i.e. M.T.S.U., Austin Peay, College of Charleston, Oakland etc.

(2) I expect us to win at least one game that we are not favored in. i.e. Kentucky or Florida

(3) I expect us to go to the NCAA tourney.

(4) I expect us to have 20 wins or more.

I'm right in line with this.

The sooner we get Maymon back, the higher my expectations. Especially considering he'll have to shake the rust off too.

If we can get him back for the last half of conference play and the SEC tourney, I love our chances in the Big Dance.

20 wins is the goal for any 1/2 way decent b'ball team ! :good!:

Really depends if and when Maymon returns...without him all year, weay finish top
6 in SEC and sneak into the tourney...with him by January, top 4 in SEC and 8 seed or better in tourney.

Apparently you can't remember last March either. Maymon may very well be the difference as to whether we going dancing in March.

we going dancin in march with or without maymon stokes can handle the inside game and if he is double or triple teamed then that leaves a man or 2 open for a 3 or a nice jump shot gotta have faith

i personally feel that we have a ton of talent and that we could even win the sec if some things go our way. not trying to sound like a sheep, but tennessee fans absolutely need something to be happy about and i feel that the players know and they are going to deliver.

With maymon out for a while , I don't have high hopes. When he gets back I'll see where we are when he gets back. We could have a really good season once he gets back.

I'd say we'll finish top 3 for sure. Historically Florida won't be an issue. I was watching the duke vs kentucky game that just finished, and Kentucky looks like all show this year. Trying to impress their fans with ridiculous harlem globe trotters crap. Calipari looked unnerved at the end of the game!
