I've read this formula before, but some of the Barners think they can sign 33 or more players and are pretty adamant about it. Even when you explain the 25 + 2 EEs then a couple sign and place you get 27-30 tops...they say you'll see, and we are wrong...I was looking for some kind of official verification myself
I think you're equating our situation with theirs. We can backcount 2 because we didn't sign our limit last year. I have no idea if there is a limit on the number you can backcount or not. If they can backcount 8, they can sign 33 and sign and place 3 more. Again I have no idea if there is a cap on the number you can backcount though.
UT can sign 25+ backcount 2 towards last year's signing limit+sign and place 3.
Not all of those that signed LOIs may have qualified, some may also have been backcounted. I think some of their recruits failed to qualify from what I've heard but you'd have to find someone more knowledgeable about Auburn recruiting. You're right...I wasn't thinking about that that was our situation. So I checked on AU
the Barn had 27 LOIs signed last year (28 in 08 class) we only signed 23 thats why we can back count 2 EEs. They had a full class for a number of years now, so now I really don't see where they get these numbers from
thanks for the reply and giving me a direction to look
The little kid that comes on here Aubie something claims that 9 or something did not qualify. I am not sure if there is a penalty for such things if that is true. But he acts like they can just backcount anyone. They have to be an EE to backcount them from my understanding. So he is saying they have 8 EEs? I would like to see him list them. I know of Newton so far.
