College Football Fun Facts - 101 College Football Facts
I was reading this list of "College Football Fun Facts." Tennessee is mentioned 3x (#16, 25, 28).

But I kept noticing wrong information, which makes me suspect more are wrong than probably just these:

#25 is wrong. They left out Alabama & Texas.

#37 is wrong. Notre Dame has the most QB SB wins (Montana 4, Theismann 1). But two other schools also have 4... Stanford (Plunkett 2, Elway 2) & La Tech (Bradshaw 4).

#73 is wrong. Eastern Washington has a red field. Granted, EWU is FCS, not FBS, but still they're NCAA.

Are there more that are wrong?

Yeah, I know, breaking news... someone's wrong on the interwebs. But I thought some of you college football junkies might enjoy perusing the list and chiming in.

Btw, isn't Tennessee the only NCAA D1 school to have never lost more than 7 games in a season? That seems like a record worth noting.

We have lost 7 games at least 5 times

But never 8. Eight would be "more than 7."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but every other NCAA team I think has had at least 1 season where they've lost 8 or more games. Tennessee never has.

Ok, that makes sense.

Michigan had never had an 8-loss season until they went 3-9 in 2008.

Alabama went 4-9 as recently as 2003. They went 0-10 in 1955.

Notre Dame went 3-9 as recently as 2007.

Texas went 1-9 in 1956.

I'm having a difficult time find historical info on Nebraska. All they talk about is 1962 and beyond since they had 42 consecuting non-losing seasons. When did they lose 8 or more games?

#27 is also wrong. The Texas-Oklahoma game a couple years ago had 96,000 since they've expanded the Cotton Bowl.

4-8 for Alabama in 2003? They didn't get a bowl with 4 wins

#28...The Blue Tick Coonhound is definitely ~not~ a Bloodhound. The Bloodhound is an older breed recognized by the AKC in 1885, while the Blue Tick Coonhound is an offshoot of the English Coonhound and was not recognized as a separate breed until 2009. (AKC.org) Blue ticks have been around for a long, long time though. It just took the world some time to catch up!

16. The orange and white team colors of the Tennessee Volunteers were chosen in 1891 to represent the daisies which grow on the campus.

I've read before that it was Neyland who introduced the orange & white, based on the daisies, after arriving at UT in the mid-20s. Prior to that UT wore black and some gray.
