Isn't that the second time in a few years this has happened in Texas?

And prayers to the family.

I haven't watched the video, but I didn't think anything could be more sickening that what happened at a Texas game last year.

Crap, I bet the announcers feel bad. Obviously they had no clue, but they were joking around about it at the time.

It's even more unfortunate because he was just trying to get his son a ball.

Exactly, just trying to give his son a great memory from the ballpark. On twitter they had a quote from an A's pitcher in the bullpen he said the guy was being wheeled out and he told the officials to get someone to watch his son.

Guess what the date was last year when a fan nearly fell to his death at a Texas game?

Also, apperantly it was a heart problem that ended this man's life. Obviously the fall triggered it.

That's a terrible story. I was watching the game last year when the fan fell over, and it's not something I ever want to see again. I really hope Tom Grieve was not laughing about a fan falling, if so that's unbelievable.

This was the kid's first ever baseball game. The dad was a firefighter in Brownville.

"They had him on a stretcher. He said, 'Please check on my son. My son was up there by himself.' The people who carried him out reassured him. 'Sir, we'll get your son, we'll make sure he's OK,'" Ziegler said. "He had his arms swinging. He talked and was conscious. We assumed he was okay. But when you find out he's not, it's just tough."

To the broadcasters defense, they didn't have the help of a replay to conclude how severe the incident was. They did offer well-wishes after seeing the replay.

Such a sad story. Texas' clubhouse wasn't even open after the game, and Oakland's was apparently silent, minus some crying.

I don't even know what to say. I feel terrible for that poor kid.

They showed the video of it this morning on the news...quite sad, especially right there infront of his son

Exactly. The fall didn't look that bad. Obviously, looks can be deceiving.

Prayers to the family.
