Favorite Martin?

At the time of hire...USCjr.

Don't think he'll turn them into what he had at KSU though.

CCM was unproven, and FM is much more proven, nobody knows the future though.

I know you are trolling, but whatever.

The hire, in the sense of that alone, easily goes to USClite. Frank is more proven that Cuonzo at said times of hiring.

Who's the better coach? TBD. Still early in both careers.

Considering Frank Martin has whispers of impropriety floating around him and Cuonzo is considered by most to be squeaky clean, I think the Cuonzo hire was better. After Pearl and Kiffin, UT had little room for error as far as violations go.

martin has his work cut out for him. he had some talent at first to work with at k s u. he will not have much to work with at sc jr. it's a good hire for them, but i think in the long run u t will win out on this.

I think Frank Martin was the benificiery of what Huggie Bear got rolling in that one year with all the NBA players he brought in before bolting to get KSU ball rolling. That being said Cuonzo Martin inherited a pogram restored from Pearl. Frank Martin has more name pop but his situation he inherits is a dumpster fire. So i don't know tough question. I would say draw this early.

The situation was more like Pearl rebuilt an old house and completely remolded it, made it a beauty, but in the end forgot to fix the foundation.

But Bruce proved to coaches everywhere this is a top 15-20 job and can win at high level. S.Carolina since Fogler left has proven to be an average job at best. Dave Odom had to have regretted leaving Wake Forest for Carolina. Situation makes the coach sometimes as much as the coach makes the new situation.

I like the contrast in temperaments - Cuonzo's calm resolve vs. Frank's intense, often fiery demeanor. It'll be interesting to see which is the first to top the other in the SEC.

I'm not denying what Pearl did for the program. But the program was not in good shape when CCM took over.

I agree that yeah finished bad but lots of coaches that take this job and say man it won't take long to be back is all I am saying. Outside of elite coaches I think coaches have to see S. Carolina as a job that they better have a good buyout because in 4-5 years will they have any signs of success.

Frank Martin would have been a great hire for Mississippi State to come in and bring some discipline to a team that really needs it.

In terms of USCe the guy has recruited some great players like Jacob Pullen and Denis Clemente so we can expect him to rope in talent to rebuild. Martin has won some really big games in his career, I believe he has several victories over top 10 teams the last few years. Martin is an unbelievable hire for a school like South Carolina

If you like constant confusion, turmoil, screaming, suspensions and a possible mutiny (if Martin would have returned to K-State) then Frank is your favorite Martin.

Rumors have been coming out of Manhattan,KS and on the airwaves here in KC that there were going to be 5 to 6 players leaving the program because of Frank Martin.

He seems like a tough guy to play for

Frank went from a Bball school to a Football school. USC has the facilities, but recruiting will be difficult at first. CCM has a jump start on him so it will be interesting to watch.

Frank had a tough time recruiting at K State. won't get much easier at USCjr.
His schedule doesn't get any easier either.
I think he'll struggle.
I'd take Zo any day of the week, twice on sunday.

K-State fans would say that they are a football school. They have only recently had success in basketball...last 5 years. Very similar to the success USC has recently had in football.

USCjr/east/light is clearly a bigger football program in a football powerhouse conference than K-State.
