Might not be the right time, but this one can go on for awhile, especially after we get this HUGE class in tomorrow.

What are your five favorite songs?

Think about it and give this one some really personal significance.

The song that gets me going every time, regardless of where I am, is, you guessed it---ROCKY TOP!!!!!!!

I guess my others would be "Calling All Angels", (My newest favorite), "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers, "Can't Help Falling In Love With You", by Elvis, and "I Will Always Love You", by Dolly.

This will be a tough one for a lot of people because there are so many good ones out there.

Come on, give it some thought!

Well, it depends on what I'm doing or what mood I'm in, so I'll give my five favorite songs for different situations.

Songs I use to get pumped up before playing contact football or whatever with my friends:
The Used - "A Box Full Of Sharp Objects"
Thrice - "Blood Clots And Black Holes"
Slayer - "Angel Of Death"
Metallica - "Seek And Destroy"
Senses Fail - "Handguns And Second Chances"

Songs for chilling out:
Sublime - "Badfish"
Open Hand - "Time To Talk"
Yellowcard - "October Nights"
The Get-Up Kids - "Holiday"
The Weakerthans - "Elegy For Elsabet"

Songs to get me rolling when playing guitar:
Dillinger Escape Plan - "Sugar Coated Sour"
Stevie Wonder - "I Wish"
The Beatles - "Blackbird"
John Mayer - "Neon"
BB King - "Ask Me No Questions"

Milo, my wife likes John Mayer but I have a hard time understanding a lot of the words. Seems like he doesn't pronunciate very well.

Is it just me?

Great list Milo....being a DJ (really, I am) and a musician, music is my lifes work. Not many people know about Thrice (staring at the sun and artist in the ambulance are my faves) and Sublime is one of my top 5 all time. While I take some time to think about this stuff I want you to check out a band called Dispatch.
They just broke up but if anyone has family in the service or if you have served yourself, check out "The General" one of the best songs ever written and a song that really sums up how I would feel.............

"I have seen their mothers
And I have discovered
that this fight is not worth fighting......
Take a shower and shine your shoes
You've got no time to lose
You are young men, you must be living......
Go now. you are forgiven......."

Much love to all my family over in Iraq right now, especially my two fave cousins, Jason and Christian, for having the balls to do what I couldn't.

Oh, people here know about Thrice. I have had the great pleasure of seeing a live show. Paper Tigers and Shilouette killed, as well as nearly made my ears bleed. I prefer the Illusion Of Safety album as far as musicianship goes, but TAITA kicks more ass.

Anyways, music here catches like wildfire, a band can be completely unknown one week and the talk of 17-year-olds county-wide the next.

Other bands I like to get pumped up to are Finch, Hawthorne Heights, Atreyu and Dillinger Escape Plan.

If you like good musicianship, check out Dillinger Escape Plan. Definitley not the most pleasing music to listen to (Casual listeners would probably rather sharpen pencils in their ear), but how many bands can pull of a jump from 7/8 to triplets in 15/16 in the middle of a crescendo?

My friend tried to get me into Dillinger Escape Plan, but it really wasnt my thing. The only bad with death metal type vocals i can even stand is opeth.

They are very talented musicians i must say
