Outside the Vols winnng the 1998 National Championship, what ae your top 4 Vols favorite games since 1974 (40 years)? Not in any necessary order.

Mine are:
1. beating the Gators in 1998:dance2:
2. beating Bama in 1995
3. the win over Arkansas in 1998
4. Vols "drain the swamp" in 2001

1959 LSU game. LSU came in ranked #1 and was the defending national champion. UT won with a goal line stuff of Heismann winner Billy Cannon on a 2 point conversion! UT 14, LSU 13. I went with my grandfather and it will always linger as a great memory of both him and the game.

1. Wilhoit kick v UF 2004 (My wife's first game)
2. 2001 "Sept 11 make-up" game (Spurrier's last game in the swamp)
3. When we hung "half a hundred" on UGa (Was watching on a cruise with a bunch of UGa fans and they thought they had it in the bag at halftime and were barking like dogs)
4. Comeback over LSU (Monday night game after Katrina)

Too bad that 2 of them were re-scheduled due to tragic events.

Three Volunteers met Cannon at the northeast corner endzone. Said they'd prepared for that play LSU ran all week. One was Bill Majors, who was one of the three Volunteer assistant coaches to die in a car/train accident in Farragut. Cannon said he'd go to his grave believing he'd scored.

That was one of the last well coached games by Bowden Wyatt. He ended the year by losing the next 3 to one o'them Mississippi teams, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt. He wouldn't let go of the single wing, lost Steve Spurrier as a recuit because of it, increased his consumption of skullpop and was gone within two years.

Florida-98
Florida-92
Bama-95
Arkansas-98
Florida-2001
Best memories was watching the goal post being carted up and down Cumberland after the 98 Florida game. Next was watching a lovely Gator female who had obviously lost a bet, being driven down Cumberland topless after the 92 game and a disconsolate Razorback fan outside the stadium after the 98 game hitting his head on the lightpole while his girlfriend watched in horror. The whole time he was muttering" I can't believe we lost."
Good times!:eek:lol:

These are my personal favorites. I didn't begin following Tennessee football until 1989, so that's why there aren't any games prior to then.

(2) 1991 TN 35 ND 34
(3) 1995 TN 41 AL 14
(4) 2001 TN 34 FL 32

Honorable Mention:

1989 TN 24. UCLA 6
1989 TN 21 Aub 14
1990 TN 45. FL 3
1995 TN 20 Ohio St 14
2003 TN 10 Miami 6
