Favorite Winter Olympic Event?

speed skating is a good one. I love to watch the downhill skiing since they are always a fraction of an inch away from disaster. The biathlon is also interesting since they are absolutely killing themselves and then have to somehow slow it down enough to squeeze off accurate shots.

Hockey, the sliding events, curling. Most of them are pretty cool though, as I don't see them often. Figure skating doesn't do it for me, but it's a pretty impressive show

For some reason I really like watching this event also...drives the wife crazy...she hates it

Curling because it looks like the only one I could do.

The downhill, slalom, Super G stuff, ski jumping

Speed skating in small doses.

Ice skating does nothing for me.

Moguls, snowboarding, freestyle, etc. are interesting but we get so much of that with the X-games that it doesn't do much for me.

Closing ceremonies.

The Olympics are a joke since they allowed pro atheletes in to play in the same sport they get paid to compete in outside the Olympics. Yet they strip Jim Thorpe's medals away because he made a few bucks playing baseball one year over the summer. It's just become another forum to sell TV ads and listen to idiots talk about sports they haven't a clue about. Look at how many minutes in an hour of coverage is devoted to the sports and how much is ads. Its running 50-50.

Don't get me wrong, I respect the idea of amateurism, but if you want the truly best of the world competing then you allow pros to enter.

Same here. I wish there was more coverage of those events. Hate that they're at the very beginning of the games.

This. Plus I really like the cross-country ski and shooting, sorry I don't know it's proper name, but it takes some pretty good talent to be able to go from full sprint to shooting a tiny target.

Edit: it's the biathlon.

I just wish the bolts on biathlon rifles required more force to work than a mouse click and that they had more recoil than a cap gun. At least they use mechanical sights, though I'd prefer them to use open sights.
