Fayton was on Sportsanimal. This is a summary of the article.

He said that team chemistry was really thrown off due to the QB issues.

Was clear that the receivers did not play harder for one QB or the other but went on to say that it was clear from the spring on that the team had a better rythym when RC was running the offense.

He said RC was more laid back and relied on touch and timing, and that Ainge had a rifle for an arm. He said that half the team followed RC while the other half followed EA. Also commented on how hard it was to switch back and forth between the two.

I know this is rehashing old details, but as I have said before, with closed practices you just have to take team news in bits and pieces as information comes available.

One of the comments on the posting board at KNS stated that perhaps the receivers should have been more concerned about catching passes than who was throwing them.

Anyway this is offering concrete proof of what most of us suspected. CPF lost this team before the season started.

Interesting, but it pretty much states what I have thought all along. Poor coaching produces a poor season. I always thought that you wanted the QB with the "frozen rope" arm and your receivers to catch the ball with the hands not the numbers on their chest.
Looking forward to new coaching and better prepared teams. :twocents:

Most of us have been posting the same opinions PBV. I just think it is interesting to hear it from the horses mouth. I do agree that Cut will not allow this kind of split on his offense.

The comment that really raised my eyebrows was that Fayton liked RC because he was a "laid back". It is intersting because I don't generally associate that characteristic with a anyone that is in a true leadership role. His choice modifier was a little disturbing to me.

I think "laidback" means his demeanor under pressure - that he relaxed team better

It seems like Fayton has been saying the same thing the whole year.

The bad thing about this is that it happened in the first place. Sanders letting this happen just solidifies the feelings I and others had about him. This wasn't some latent attitude. it was apparent. It looked this way from game one and for those following the Spring, back then. If distanced people saw this, then Sanders clearly should have not only seen it but done something about it. You can even throw Fulmer under the bus for facilitating this as well. If there is a problem with chemistry you don't pour gas on the fire all season by doing what caused this in the first place.

But it's all hindsight. I'm sure Cut will take care of this first thing. If you have a problem with the man leading you down the field sit your butt on the sideline. This is a team. There are people I work with that on a personal level they're idiots. But I still have to get the job done whether I like them or not.

Sounds like the democracy must fall in favor of an oligarchy or dictatorship if the Vols want to get back on track. Kind of like America.
