I would say that they will fill the Special Teams position in house and hire a coach for another position like qb's or safeties imo

yep you nailed it

Tennessee: With tight ends / special teams coordinator Mark Elder leaving for Eastern Kentucky, the early feedback we’re hearing is that Tennessee might look to bring in a coach to work full-time with the quarterbacks and shift other staff responsibilities. Will update as the search progresses

Ruffin McNeill hired as Assistant Head Coach/ Linebackers at UVA. Absolutely love it.

So Alabama retains their Strength Coach and he will make over $500,000 per year? For a Strength Coach? Not debating the importance to the program but wow these assistant football coaching and staff salaries are getting ridiculous

ESPN reporting Maryland has hired Walt Bell as OC. Looks like Azzani may be safe.

Mizzou hires Heupel as OC. Spent last yr at UT State after being let go from his Alma mater.

They also hired So. Cal defensive line coach Chris Wilson to the same position.

And today apparently hired TCU co-coordinator and LB coach DeMontie Cross as their DC.

Shannon Dawson was overvalued by Stoops and UK IMO but making a change after 1 year and going into a make or break year for Stoops wasn't wise. 3rd OC in 3 years is not ideal.

Dawson didn't seem to be able to know how to incorporate the TE into the offense, when it was a position of strength. The WR coach Tommy Mainord will land in a good place but he didn't deal with WR personality issues, not to mention their baffling inability to catch passes.

Early talk is Eddie Gran from UC. If that happens, we may hire a QB coach rather than a WR coach. TBD.

I agree that it isn't ideal but word is that Stoops just didn't trust Dawson.

Well I don't think Dawson had much play calling experience. I believe Holgerson held those reigns.

A&M OC Spavital was shown the door in College Station...Rumlin gets one more year :dance2: Folks on texags think the list of replacements are:

*Doug Meacham TCU
*Tony Franklin Cal
*Major Applewhite Houston
*Noel Mazzone UCLA
*Bob Stitt Montana

Mazzone was just fired at UCLA so most think it will be him due to lack of buyout problems and the position at A&M is most likely a lame duck job.

Oregon: Defensive coordinator Don Pellum has been demoted to linebackers coach, and linebackers coach Erik Chinander has accepted a defensive coordinator job at another FBS program.

I missed this one:

Mark Richt and Miami hires former Missouri DL coach, Craig Kuligowski (the guy who developed players like - Aldon Smith, Sheldon Richardson, Michael Sam, Ziggy Hood, Kony Ealy, Shane Ray and Markus Golden).

Hired to same position.

Was he not retained at Missouri or did he quit to take the UM job? good get by Richt
