People are so stupid. Years ago we were hiking and had bears come around the shelter we were in. One dummy through food out to them. Of course, it was their first hike ever staying in a shelter and the rest of us about came unglued on this guy. We excoriated him over it. The bears hung around and shat right outside the shelter. There's only a million signs around the park that say "Don't Feed the Bears".

A few years ago, me and my wife were at Cades Cove and were lucky enough to see a black bear and her cubs. Of course, people then immediately start trying to climb the fence and lure them over with food.

I've seen that in Cades Cove also! Hate to say it but I would probably sit in my truck and watch as a bear ate a dumb azz trying to feed him and not try to intervene. Maybe it will strengthen the gene pool in this world!

Heck no, not part of our group. Don’t know who the guy was, but he was pretty distant the rest of the time.
