Driving in this morning, some yahoo going on and on about Obama's comment about kicking some ass to get things done about the oil spill as "crass, tasteless" and on and on.

So he doesn't do enough.

Then, when he uses some harsher-than-usual language to express that he, too, is frustrated with the situation, he is chastised for that.

Had it been George Bush saying that, the right would be giddy with the "plain talk." But if its Obama, time to put on our fake "We are outraged!" face.

It only took him 49 days to get mad, not bad at all. Most other Americans have been mad for about 47 days.

Even guys on your side have been calling him out, and the polls say about 63% say he is not doing enough. So don't try to paint this as only the right is not happy with Barry.

personally I think it's funny he said it and it reminds me of some drunk college kid saying "You better be glad they're holding me back or I'd kick your ass." No one's holding you back Mr Pres and you're still not swinging

Actually, its 68%, which is about 6 points higher than are angry with Bush over Katrina.

If you need verification, turn on Fox News because they are talking about it 24/7. Commercial free. They are throwing a party to celebrate.

If it weren't 49 days late, as justin mentioned, it would be awesome that he said it. Now, it is just cheap talk.

There is oil covering beaches and marshlands and instead of saturating these beaches with people to mop up the mess we get I need to know whose ass to kick soundbites. If BP isn't addressing all the issues, which is impossible to do on their own, then the federal government needs to step in and do what they can, contain and clean up the oil already threatening coastlines, instead he resorts to rhetoric to assign blame to others after claiming the buck stops with him.

Someone has to say it, I am about 99% sure you will not hear it on the rest of the channels.

No, the feigned outrage would just be expressed 49 days earlier. Obama could have gotten in a submarine on the second day, donned a suit and gear, and lost his life singlehandedly plugging the leak with chewing gum and Fox News would criticize him for not getting there 5 minutes sooner.

Its on there. Just not being chiseled put into the station logo, like on Fox.

I am sure Olbermann and Matthews will be citing these polls.

There is nothing "feigned" about this, and it certainly is coming from a larger swath of people than just the "right wingers." In fact, most of the people I know that aren't furious over it happen to BE right wingers, and the are defensive about the backlash against offshore drilling.

The most liberal people I know are some of the more angry.

Question: Is the outrage over Obama's lack of movement on gay rights issues also "feigned" by "right wingers?"

The dude isn't performing very well. Doesn't matter your political leanings. Quit carrying his water.

this is my problem as well. he wants to make it SEEM like he's doing something. this is why he's going after bp with those ridiculous criminal charges. he is all talk and no action. blame bush, blame BP, blame everyone, yet claim the buck stops with you. even if we assume bp doesn't give a crap about the environment we can certainly assume they would do anything to avoid something that would cost them $30 bil. arguing it was intentional or intentionally negligent is ridiculous.

I don't think we have any real news channels any more. They all have one agenda or another.

I agree, but conservatives have 1 channel to rely on, and that is still too much for liberal. They have about 6 channels and it's still not enough for them.

I agree,LG, but you quickly forget that with a GOP president the left was "furious" over bullcrap as well.

Don't act as if there is, and has been, only one party overcooking this type of ****.

It was on the "Today" show. Little kids with their moms watch that. It wasnt like he was on Larry King Live at 9pm on CNN. It was on NBC at 8 am and it was tasteless

Speaking of - I've been watching CNN since they are doing the most coverage on the oil spill.

Anderson Cooper has a presidential historian as a regular "expert" on the response. He is absolutely horrible and in no way qualified for the analysis they go to him for.

It's not really so much a bias issue as it is just dumb. He clearly has no real understanding of how corporations operate.
