Yup. Called targeting. It’s the 4th quarter in a one point game, a QB is running into the end zone, but slips and falls into a slide, snd they call targeting on a defender just trying to make a play. I’m rooting for Kansas, but good gravy, what a horrible call.

Kansas QB went into a slide at 1 yardline. Knucklehead move? OU penalized for targeting! 1st down Kansas at the ONE. Both teams with bizarre plays. Kansas leads 32-27 with 12 minutes remaining.

Targeting really has to be reviewed in the off-season. “Launching” isn’t about a defender expecting a guy to dive for the end zone. If the offense is allowed to dive, the defense has to be allowed to jump at them.

Kansas got the Tennessee vs Alabama treatment on that holding call that backed them up . Field Judge on the goal line only throws the flag when it’s clear the RB scores, when he’s 20 yards away from the foul.
