Obviously everything is very fluid right now. Given that it's hard to foresee, where do you recruit-niks think this class winds up ranking? We just hired some boys that are used to doing work.

My ignorant guess is 12th. Maybe that's optimistic.

Wanna say 7th! But wind up 14th. Fine with that. Because as far as ratings you could have the 22nd class and play for a conference championship with right coaches hammering fundamentals and execution.

15th to 20th IMO

Inside 15 with some good linemen would be a huge success and impressive job.

Inside top 10 would be unreal and would have me thinking we will be fighting for top 5 classes every year.

Whatever it ends being ranked, you have to wonder if it could have been higher if Pruitt had not decided to split time between recruiting and preparing for Clemson.

If he get Mays and Taylor back I would say 9th. Pruit will close better than any coach we have had since Fulmer and he is going to help us get there too.

Not as concerned with the ranking as I am filling needs.. LBs and LBs, DTs and LBs.. Also speed guys.. Tennessee needs more speed across the board and nowhere more so than LB.. Only he needs some Juco IMO because not keen on going into battle in the SEC with 18 year old true freshmen.. Not a recipe for success. But it has been painfully obvious for 2 straight years that Tennessee is only 1 deep at a multitude of positions on Defense, LB, and also on the offensive side of the ball as well.

Probably not much since the time he will be spending in Bama is all dead period. His staff will be delegated with any leg work needed during that time and I’m sure he’s not going to disappear during that time either.

20-25. Getting in real late with some recruits and he may not be interested in some of Butch's targets/commits.

When does the dead period start and end?

I'd say if you count the jucos; and I think we will do like Miss St LY and land some gooduns; We will finish in the top 10. Players surely understand the opportunity of playing time at UT.

Why does it matter? We have had top ranked recruiting classes for the last 5 years and we lost 8 games for the first time ever.
