for Tobias Harris. He reminds me a lot of Jeff Green.

Jeff Green is a pretty good comparison, although I think Harris potentially has a higher ceiling than Green, which sounds ridiculous because Green is in the NBA, but I believe it. Harris is only a Freshman and his game is so developed.

What impresses me the most is his body control. He sometimes cradles the ball in the lane, goes up, and has such nice touch off the glass or shooting a floater. Kid's got a chance to be special.

Green is more athletic than Harris imo. Harris seems to have a much better understanding of the game than Green did when he was at Georgetown though. Overall, Harris is a better player than Green was at the same point in his career. Their ceilings may be similar.

Green has a little slimmer build and a little more toughness on defense in my opinion. Harris has only played 3 games, though. Maybe I'm wrong.

Why do people continually try to compare contemporary players to earlier ones? What is the point? Are you supposed to be able to predict what a current player will do based on his previous likeness?

While it is clearly frustrating to you, and I can't even imagine the sleepless nights you've had toiling over our stupidity, it is what some people might call a "discussion." This is in fact, a "discussion board," and thus it is a place where you might find many such topics being talked about because people find them interesting and worth sharing. Comparing one player to another is an example of an "observation," and one that does well in projecting and illustrating how good a player might be looking forward. You can find many such topics on a discussion board and I welcome you to take a look around, take a deep breath, and find those that suit your tastes.

I certainly engage in my share of hypothetical discussions and do compare one thing to another. I was a history major, for heaven's sake.

But this kind of comparison seems more illogical and pointless than most others. To wit:

Comparing one player to another is an example of an "observation," and one that does well in projecting and illustrating how good a player might be looking forward.

Does it? Say we took Larry Bird's DNA used it in our new-found magical ability to clone humans. Larry Bird II grew up and started playing basketball.

We could all sit around saying, "My, that guy looks just like Larry Bird! He dribbles like Bird, he walks like Bird, he talks like Bird."

But, until he played for a few years, we won't know if Bird II was even an NBA-caliber player, much less a hall of famer.

The point is that every player is a unique individual, and there is no relationship whatsoever between how Player X played ten years ago, and how Player Y will play next year--even if they had the same DNA!

seriously though i think jeff green to tobias harris is a good comparison. i think green is more athletic and more explosive. tobias seems very smooth and in control just like green was at GU.
